It will be a crowded ballot for Tl’etinqox Chief in upcoming election

There are no shortage of people lining up to fill the shoes of Chief Joe Alphonse as Chief of the Tl’etinqox First Nation government.

15 names will be on the ballot for Chief in the upcoming election.

They are Grant Alphonse, Ray Kirby Alphonse, Melanie (Johnny) Frank, Blaine Grinder, Dale Hance, Dustin Hance, Ashton Harry, Isodore Harry, Ruby Harry, Tyrone Harry, Gerald Johnny, Trevor Mack, David Mueller, Jenny Philbrick, and Leslie Stump.

There is also a total of 54 people running for one of 12 Councillor positions.

A nomination meeting was held on Saturday (Jan 25) at the Tl’etingqox School Gym.

The deadline for candidates to withdraw is this Thursday at noon. (Jan 30)

Voting will also take place in the school gym on March 8th between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
