williams lake roundabout more expensive than budgeted for

 

Williams Lake motorists will not be driving around in circles.

At last night’s city council meeting it was agreed that the proposed roundabout at Proctor Street and Fifth Avenue would be a no go so instead it will be a four way stop.

Mayor Walt Cobb says they were hoping to put one in and explains the reasoning why it won’t be.

“We had committed an extra $250,000 in hopes that we could make it a roundabout rather than a 4-way stop or a lighted system and unfortunately the price came in about $300,000 dollars over that”.

A third option besides the roundabout and a 4-way stop was traffic lights.
