2024 was a busy year for Quesnel RCMP

Quesnel RCMP responded to approximately 600 more calls in 2024 compared to the previous year.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says they responded to more than 11,000 calls for service.

“Approximately nine percent of the calls for service had a mental health component. There was a decrease in reports of residential Break and Enters and Theft from motor vehicles, but an increase in Commercial Break and Enters and Theft of motor vehicles.”

Kronebuch says there was also an increase in reports of Domestic Violence and Assaults.

He says Quesnel RCMP also created a new municipal traffic unit in April to help combat impaired driving and increase road safety.

“In the 9-month period the unit dealt with approximately 350 calls for service and removed approximately 54 impaired drivers from the roads.”
