Police in Quesnel are warning residents about an increase in mail thefts

Quesnel RCMP say there has been a recent rash of mail theft in the area.

Police say they have received several reports of mailboxes being broken into at multiple locations since Monday. (January 13)

“We encourage people to ensure they are checking and emptying their mailboxes on a regular basis to limit the number of items that thieves have access to,” says Sergeant Clay Kronebusch. “Mail thieves will often use personal information and data to conduct other offences like fraud and identity theft.”

Anyone that sees someone tempering with mail boxes or has information regarding these offences is asked to contact the Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211.
