They were lined up out the door at the Seniors Centre in Quesnel this (Feb 23) afternoon for a Site C job fair.
Bob Gammar, a spokesperson with BC Hydro, says they were well past 200 people as of 2 o’clock and he expects that number to grow by the time they wrap things up at 7 o’clock tonight.
Gammar says when people get to the front of the line there will be a table with 3 representatives from the Peace River Hydro partners.
He says people will then have a few minutes to go over their skills and experience and then the contractor will tell them what they’re looking for.
Gammar says people may then receive a callback within the next 6 to 8 weeks.
This is job fair number 6 in the region with two more to come.
Gammar says they expect around 5 thousand people to come through the doors.
At it’s peak, he says the main contractor for the Site C project in Northeastern BC willprovide around 15-hundred jobs.
