RCMP are investigating a home invasion in Quesnel

One person was arrested and another is at large following a home invasion in Quesnel early Sunday (Jan 12) morning.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says police were called to a home in the 300 block of Hoy Street at around 2:10 a.m.

“Two suspects broke into a residence, sprayed the victim with bear spray, and damaged several items within the home. The suspects were identified as a 26-year old man and a 22-year old woman. The man was reported to be in possession of a handgun during the incident.”

Kronebusch says a search warrant was executed at another residence shortly after that.

“The residence which was in the 400 block of North Fraser Drive was contained and a search warrant was obtained by police. The North District Emergency Response Team assisted with the execution of the search warrant.”

Kronebusch says the 22-year old woman was arrested outside of the residence, but they were unable to locate the second suspect.

He says woman has since been released pending a future court date, but the 26-year old man is still outstanding and police are attempting to locate him.

Kronebusch says the suspects and victim were known to each other, and he says the missing suspect is also known to them.
