Crash on Highway 97 Sends One to Hospital in 100 Mile House

100 Mile House RCMP say a suspected drunk driver sent one person to the hospital last night [January 7].

RCMP reported a single vehicle crashed into a light standard at the intersection of Exeter Truck Route on Highway 97 with severe damage.

EHS and 100 Mile House Fire Department were also on the scene to retrieve the driver, the single occupant, from the wreckage.

Witnesses of the crash told police that the vehicle was driving north and swerving between lanes before the collision.

Police issued a breathalyzer which the driver failed, and received a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was the sole injury of the collision.
