Suspicious death is being investigated in Anahim Lake

RCMP were called to a residence near Nimpo Lake on Monday (Dec 30) evening for a report of a fight.

Upon arrival, police say a 26-year old male was found in medical distress suffering from stab wounds.

Emergency Health Services and police performed life saving measures, but were unable to save the man.

A 22-year old Nimpo Lake resident, who was known to the victim, was arrested and is in custody.

Police believe this to be a targeted incident and that there is no risk to the general public.

The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit now has conduct of the investigation.
