It will be one of the mildest Christmases ever in the Cariboo

The 2024 version of Christmas will definitely go down as unusual, at least as far as the weather is concerned.

Chris Doyle, a Meteorologist with Environment Canada, says the normal high for December 25th is -4 or -5 degrees.

The forecast is calling for plus 5 in the Quesnel area.

Doyle says that still wouldn’t make it the warmest Christmas ever though.

“The record in Quesnel is 10.6 degrees from 1947, while the record for Williams Lake is 7.9 degrees from 2005.”

Doyle says the mild weather is supposed to stay with us right through the week.
