You may have seen the signs over the past 4 years from one generous Organizer, who wishes to remain anonymous and has been helping those in need in Williams Lake.
Every year the Organizer has put together a Free Hot Turkey Soup lunch on Christmas Day at the Petro Canada on Oliver St.
“The soup is hearty, more like a stew or Gulash since we use several Turkeys, several bags of veggies, you know, really filling,” the Organizer says.
“Before, people have come and donated gloves, scarves, toques, socks, warm blankets A lot of people bring Goodie buns. You know, food that they can walk away with too.”
The Organizer has since worked with local businesses to set up pre-Christmas Day donations for them to collect.
“So, I’ve asked Williams Lake Transit if they could accept donations for me in their building, and they’re across from Cariboo’s, Ski on 1st Avenue, but Petro Can has agreed to open their doors, to take donations Pre-Christmas day as well.”
Everyone is welcome to enjoy some Free Hot Turkey Soup from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Petro Canada On Christmas Day.
