Quesnel School District Adds Another Meeting On Possible School Closures

North Cariboo residents will get an extra meeting to try and save their schools.
Quesnel’s Board of Education has added a meeting on Tuesday, March 29th to the three that are already on the schedule.
Parkland, Ecole Baker and Kersley elementary schools are currently on the chopping block.
Board Chair Tony Goulet says they just felt that it would give people a chance to ask more questions right up until they make their final decision the following night.
He insists that they haven’t made any decisions yet.
Goulet says these meetings are for Trustees to gather information and have a dialogue with the public.
He says they can still have an impact.
Goulet says they are still getting a lot of questions so there is still a lot to talk about.
The first of these now four meetings will be this coming Tuesday (Feb 23) night.
All of them will take place at 7 o’clock at Correlieu Secondary School.
