Celebrating The Holidays In A Tasteful Way In Williams Lake

A Seasonal event that the entire community of Williams Lake looks forward to every year will be happening later this week.

The 19th Annual Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre Christmas Wish Breakfast will be hosted by Boston Pizza this Wednesday (December 11) morning.

CDC Executive Director Vanessa Riplinger said once again they have a lot of wonderful volunteers coming together to make this happen.

“The Williams Lake Mustangs, the Chamber of Commerce comes out to serve, our MLA, our Mayor, our City Council, Rotary, Daybreak Rotary, and Boston Pizza staff volunteer as well. Reservations are always recommended in advance so if you have a table reserved, you’re asked to bring an unwrapped gift for ages new born all the way up to youth or a monetary donation and you’ll be served a delicious breakfast.”

Riplinger noted that when the Christmas Wish Breakfast wraps up, they take take everything back to the Child Development Centre and Organizations like their own deliver these gifts to children and youth that might not otherwise get a gift at Christmas.

“We have done this now for almost 2 decades and we have given out between 25 and 30 thousand gifts, the community has throughout the Cariboo-Chilcotin so that is something to be so proud of. Whatever donations are left over we give to an Organization that hands them out around Christmas time like the Salvation Army and delivered them. It’s been wonderful the Christmas Wish Breakfast.”

Riplinger added that when they get monetary donations they fill up the tables that are low.

“Maybe this year we’ll be low on baby gifts then we can go out locally and purchase more baby gifts. We’re really proud to support local businesses which is exciting as well.”

To find out if any reservations are still available you’re asked to call the Child Development Centre 250-392-4481.
