Ski..eat..repeat.
That’s what cross-country skiers will be doing tomorrow when the 10th annual Wells International Gourmet Cross-Country Ski tour takes place.
Dave Jorgenson, one of the Directors of the Wells and Area Trails Society talks about how this event got started.
‘We have an excellent trail system here and Wells is full of really interesting cooks so we piled it all together a few years ago and came up with this odd idea”.
And what makes this particular cross-country ski event so unique? Jorgenson explains.
“During the event people ski out onto the meadow and trail system on Cornish Mountain and they occasionally intersect stations that have food that’s from a particular region around the world”.
The Gourmet Ski starts at the Bears Paw Cafe in Wells and ends at the Jack O Clubs general store.
All money raised supports the upkeep of the society’s winter and summer trail system.
the Wells and Area Trails Society will also be hosting the Vancouver International Film Festival at the Sunset Theatre saturday night at 7 which Jorgenson says everyone is welcome to come out and watch.
