Details released on house fire in Quesnel

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department has released some details on a structure fire on Monday (Nov 11) night.

Fire Inspector and Safety Officer Bart Schneider confirms that they were called to Nason Street at around 7-45.

“We had what 18 fire fighters responded and four pieces of apparatus to a basement fire in Carson Sub. The fire was contained to the basement. Smoke damage throughout the rest of the house but the actual fire damage was contained to the basement.”

Schneider says they were on scene for about two hours.

He says there were no injuries, although the residents were taken to hospital as a precaution for possible smoke inhalation.

Schneider says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
