New Way to Pay Transit Fares Coming to Quesnel Soon

Quesnel Transit Riders will have to buy their fares online as of December 1st.

BC Transit will cease to sell legacy scratch-off fare products such as DayPASS, 10 Ticket, Adult Monthly Pass, and Student/Senior Monthly Passes.

Riders will purchase Fare Products and Rates using BC Transit’s contactless fare payment system, Umo, that is used already in 19 out of the 30 transit systems across B.C.

Umo allows Riders to pay using an app and a reloadable card. Reloadable cards can be purchased online or at the BC Transit retailers, the Quesnel & District Arts & Recreation Centre, and City Hall.

BC Transit says that cash and the Province of British Columbia’s BC Bus Pass will continue to be accepted. Any Legacy Tickets and Pass Fare products will be accepted until used up.

For more information, as well as to see a table of the fare rates on December 1, visit bctransit.com/quesnel/fares
