Quesnel and Williams Lake were a little warmer than normal last month

October was pretty much bang on when it comes to temperatures in the Cariboo but it was a little warmer.

Ken Dosanjh, a Meteorologist with Environment Canada, explains what a mean temperature is.

“By mean temperature I am referring to taking the daily high and overnight low and then averaging them out throughout the entire month.”

Dosanjh says both Quesnel and Williams Lake were warmer.

“For Quesnel, the normal mean temperature is 5.5 degrees and it was 5.9, so 0.4 degrees warmer, and for Williams Lake it was 5.6 degrees and the normal mean is 5.4.”

Dosanjh says when it comes to precipitation, it was wetter in Williams Lake.

“Quesnel saw around 92 percent of normal. Typically they see around 52 millimeters and last month they saw 48. Williams Lake saw 110 percent of normal precipitation. Typically they see 41 millimeters and last month they saw 45.”

Dosanjh says there were no daily temperature records in October.
