Early Morning Collision At Intersection Of Highway 97 & Highway 20

One person was taken to hospital following a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 20.

RCMP Corporal Madonna Saunderson said at 5:37 this (Monday) morning an off duty member came upon the incident and that the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and provided a statement.

“The vehicle was southbound on Highway 20 when the pedestrian, dressed in dark clothing, ran across the highway and was struck.” Saunderson said, “There was no crosswalk or controlled device at the scene of the collision.”

BC Emergency Health Service attended and transported the pedestrian to hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.

Saunderson said the investigation is ongoing however there does not appear to be any criminality involved.

Anyone who may have any information on this incident is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP.
