Williams Lake Fire Department Responded To A Small Brush Fire

The Williams Lake Fire Department responded to a small wildfire behind the Bank of Montreal on Second Avenue South.

Fire Chief Evan Dean said they were dispatched at approximately 7:35 Friday night and upon arrival they discovered a small brush fire in the City parking lot area.

“The fire slowly spread through the accumulated leaves and into some juniper bushes that looked more severe than it was.” Dean said, “The fire was quickly extinguished by one Engine crew of four firefighters who were on scene for fifteen minutes.

No buildings were threatened, no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is not known at this time.
