Fatal Snowmobile Crash In The Cariboo

There was a tragic incident in the Cariboo’s back country yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Williams Lake RCMP and BC Ambulance Service were called to a location in the Yanks Peak Area, about 2 hours east of the Lake City just after 1 o’clock.

Police say a group of 30 snowmobilers were participating in a ride and a 45-year old woman was involved in a crash.

A couple of people with medical backgrounds were in the ride and immediately administered first aid at the scene until BC Ambulance could take over.

Unfortunately, RCMP say that the victim did not survive the trip to hospital.

The name of the woman is not being released.

Williams Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
