A couple of construction projects are underway in Quesnel

A new apartment complex and a new playground will be going up in Quesnel.

A new 6-Storey 57-unit apartment complex is being built on Kinchant Street beside City Hall.

Tanya Turner is the Director of Development Services with the city.

“This is a very exciting project. We’ve been working on this for a number of years. As many people know that used to be a city owned property. We put that property up for bid for people to bid and give us request for proposals on developing multi-family residential units there.”

Turner says a development permit for this project was approved by City Council back in 2022.

The old playground equipment has been removed and the site is now being prepared for the installation of some brand new modern equipment.

That project is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.
