Former Quesnel Staff Sergeant now running the Nanaimo RCMP detachment

The new officer in charge of the Nanaimo RCMP has tied to Quesnel.

Inspector Andrew Burton has been appointed as the new Superintendent and detachment Commander for the Nanaimo RCMP.

Burton was the Sergeant in charge of Operations and eventually the Staff Sergeant in Quesnel from September of 2012 until he left in September of 2019.

He began his career in the 90’s in Smithers before moving on to Bella Coola, Kamloops, Merritt, and Port Alberni before Quesnel.

Burton later spent time at RCMP headquarters in Regina before going to Nanaimo.
