Aggravated assault trial in Quesnel ends in acquittal

A Quesnel man has been found not guilty of aggravated assault.

That was the result of a week long Supreme Court trial for 42-year old Richard James Meier.

Meier was charged following an incident back on December 8th of 2021.

RCMP were called to the Northern Network of Peers for Equality downtown on St. Laurent Avenue for a report of an assault.

Police said further investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place between two people, and that a 36-year old man was left suffering from life-threatening injuries.
