CRD Board Greenlights Regional Trails And Parks Proposal To Move Forward

The Cariboo Regional District Board is taking their first step towards authorizing a new regional service.

They ratified an initial decision made at their September fifth committee of the whole meeting to confirm their desire to implement a regional trails and parks service and to discuss the proposal with each municipal council to seek their participation.

Once the proposal has been shared with the councils of each of the CRD’s 4 municipal members and participation confirmed, they would then proceed with public engagement.

The Cariboo Regional District said a regional trails and parks service, would enhance their ability to not only build trails in the region but also maintain existing ones.

More information about the proposed service and future public engagement opportunities will be made available in 2025. Over the last 20 years, the CRD has invested significant funds to develop this trail network.
