Rider and 150 Mile House Firefighter, Sharleen Bast talks about the mixed emotions after the tour.

“It’s really exciting, I mean you’re going through the days, you’re working hard, but then all the sudden we realize yesterday there’s only 200 kilometres left until we get to Williams Lake.” says Bast.

“It’s kind of sad that its over and we’ve kind of formed a bond, but it’s a really great feeling to be finished.”

Bast says her and the other riders have already started talking about taking part in next year’s Cops for Cancer Tour de North.

Tour Coordinator with the Canadian Cancer Society, Laura Nelson noted this year’s route was one of the more challenging one’s, especially with the weather consisting of rain and wind for the majority of the days.

She says donations are still able to be made on their website, with their goal being $200,000.
