Cops For Cancer Tour De North Closing Ceremony Today In Williams Lake

The 23rd annual Cops for Cancer Tour de North that started in Dawson Creek on September 20th will be making it’s final tour stop later today (September 26) in Williams Lake.

The team of 16 riders made up of law enforcement and first responders is expected to roll into Boitanio Park at approximately 5:15 for a closing ceremony to celebrate the completion of their 7-day 850 kilometre ride.

Along the way they were raising money and awareness for childhood cancer research and to support services like camp good times.

Over the past two decades, Tour de North has raised over $3.5 million for the Canadian Cancer Society to help children and families living with cancer.

In 1997 the first Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock launched with a dozen police officers cycling from one end of Vancouver Island to the other.

Today it has evolved across the country including 4 cycling tours here in BC.
