Cariboo Regional District Getting into Winter Games Spirit

The 2015 Canada Winter Games may be 107 days away, but that isn’t stopping many including the Cariboo Regional District, to get into the game spirit.

Al Richmond, Chair of the CRD, says the CRD will endorse participation in the Games to promote economic development opportunities and tourism of the Cariboo Chilcotin.

Al Richmond, Chair of the CRD, says although the proposal sounds expensive, the opportunity is unprecedented.

Richmond says the estimated cost of the CRD showcasing the region at the Winter Games to be approximately 20,000 dollars.

The CRD will be encouraging the District of Wells, District of 100 Mile House, City of Quesnel, and the City of Williams Lake to partner with them for what Richmond, says is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The 2015 Canada Winter Games run in Prince George from February 13 to March 1.
