The Quesnel River Rush had their home opener, and played their first regular season game since entering the league, however the team’s first win will have to wait.

The team’s first ever goal came from forward, Josh Greenough, who scored against the Merritt Centennials just over three minutes into the second period to tie the game, however the Centennials had a quick answer to make it 2-1, and was the final score.

River Rush goaltender, Josh Hager stopped 18 shots out of the Centennials 20.

The Williams Lake Mustangs enter the league with a statement game at their home opener against the Sicamous Eagles.

Forward, Dawson Ernst scored the team’s first goal 38 seconds into the second period, giving them a 1-0 lead, with the team scoring four more that same period, and ending the game 5-2.

Mustang goaltender, Jasper Tait stopped 40 of 42 shots from the Eagles.

The 100 Mile House Wranglers dropped their home opener against the Osoyoos Coyotes 3-2.

Forward, Nelson Webster scored the teams first goal of the season halfway through the second, in an attempted comeback being down 3-0, but the team was unable to complete their efforts.

Wranglers goalie, Ivan Tolsma stopped 22 shots out of the Coyotes 25.

All three teams play at home tonight at 7:00, with the Wranglers against the Revelstoke Grizzlies, Mustangs will play the Centennials, and the River Rush take on the Eagles.
