Cops for Cancer Tour de North to soon make its way through the Cariboo

Cops for Cancer Tour de North will soon begin cycling through six communities in Northern BC.

The fundraiser, which is put on by the Canadian Cancer Society, will have law enforcement and emergency services personnel ride to raise money for childhood cancer research and a national support system for families affected by it.

Cops for Cancer said a community fundraiser and barbecue will be held in Dawson Creek today (September 19th), with the tour officially starting on September 20th.

The first stop in the Cariboo will be on Wednesday, September 25th, in Quesnel, with the final stop of the tour at the RCMP detachment in Williams Lake the next day.

The riders will arrive at around 5:15pm, where they will also hold a closing ceremony.

Last year, the tour raised $150,000, with the goal this year set at $200,000.

More information about the seven day tour and riders, along with where to donate can be found on the Canadian Cancer Society’s website here.
