South Cariboo man in hot water after allegedly assaulting a police officer

100 Mile House RCMP say they received a report this past Friday (Sept 13) of a male attempting to gain entry into a residence in the 5000 block of Horse Lake Road.

The male was chased away by a person on the property.

Police conducted patrols in the area and an adult male, believed to be associated with the incident, was found in a ditch.

RCMP say they attempted to arrested the man who is then accused of resisting and assaulting an officer.

He was eventually taken into custody and charges of Trespass at Night, Resisting Arrest, and Assaulting a Peace Officer are now being recommended to the crown for approval.
