Stage set for serious assault trial in Quesnel

  A trial date has been set for the accused in a serious assault in Quesnel.
   42-year old Richard James Meier is due back in Supreme Court next Monday on the 23rd.
   Meier is charged with aggravated assault and he will be tried by a Supreme Court Justice alone.
   Quesnel RCMP were called to G.R. Baker Hospital back on December 8th, 2021 for a report of a victim of an assault.
   Police say further investigation revealed that an altercation has taken place between two people at the Northern Network for Equality downtown on St. Laurent Avenue.
   RCMP say a 36-year old man suffered life-threatening injuries.

Boil Water Notice in Effect in Russet Bluff

Residents of the Russet Bluff Subdivision will have to boil water for the time being.  The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has issued a Boil Water Notice for the Russet Bluff Water System effective immediately until further notice as the upper well of the water system cannot keepup with the demand on the water supply.
