BC Green Party announce their candidate for the Cariboo-Chilcotin

Another MLA candidate has been announced for the Cariboo-Chilcotin riding.

The Green Party of BC announced John Kidder would be the one running under their banner for the upcoming election.

Kidder says he isn’t new to politics, specifically the Green Party of BC, as he was one of the founders in 1982.

“We formed the Green Party then with the idea of putting together an environmentally centrist party that is pro business, pro labourers, centrist and environmentally strong party.” says Kidder.

“I stayed with that party for about three years.”

Kidder says he helped revive the BC Liberal party, and worked with the Federal Liberal party for nearly 40 years, then joined the Federal Greens.

He feels that his party has a strong position on the environment and  small businesses, and have a good costed platform, fully detailed on what they intend to do, with the hope to present enough sensible policies that enough greens are elected.

Kidder adds a green minority party in combination with the independents, who were originally with BC United, would hold the balance of responsibility.

The provincial election is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th.

More information about the Green Party can be found on their website here.
