BC Greens name Prince George-North Cariboo candidate

Randy Thompson and the BC Greens have joined the provincial election race in the Prince George-North Cariboo riding.

Currently a City of Quesnel employee, Thompson has a background in radio and television, as a chef, and a transport driver.

According to the Greens, he “brings a lifelong passion for nature and a dedication to challenging corporate control over BC’s resources.”

“I love the amazing diversity of life on this planet and it saddens and angers me that we are destroying the only place we can survive. It’s like punching holes in your life boat because the other guy in the boat will pay you per hole,” he said in a previous news release.

Conservative Sheldon Clare is currently the only other official candidate in the riding, though current BC United Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes’ future is still unknown after her party folded last week.
