Student safety has been a concern after School District 27 removed a bus route in 108 Mile Ranch area.
A petition, started by concerned parents, said the change could have some kids walking 3 kilometres with roads having no shoulders, tight turns with little visibility, and posted speed limits as high as 80 kilometres an hour.
Other issues highlighted in the petition included poorly maintained roads during the winter, and wildlife in the area including bears, cougars, and more.
So far, the petition has garnered 1,030 signatures, with a goal of 1,500, and is able to be found on Change.org here.
