Accident closes Highway 97 south of Quesnel

Highway 97 south of Quesnel near Marquerite was closed this (Monday) morning due to a motor vehicle accident.

Quesnel RCMP Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says the call came in just after 10 o’clock.

“The collision involved a pick-up truck that had rear ended a commercial vehicle that had stopped for construction. The driver of the pickup truck has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.”

Kronebusch says the driver of the semi was not injured.

The Highway is now open to single lane alternating traffic.
