Performances in the Park has another successful year

Performances in the Park has officially wrapped up in Williams Lake.

The event took place at Boitanio Park every Thursday beginning on July 4th, continuing to August 22nd, with each performance seeing a healthy turn out.

Manager, Venta Rutkauskas says the attendance was matched by incredible performances.

“We really lucked out this year with the caliber of the talent that we had both from local acts, as well as those that were travelling through from all over the place, really all over the world this year.”

One of the highlights this year was a Punjabi act that Mayor Surinderpal Rathor helped organize, which Rutkauskas says had a great attendance.

Now, work will soon begin for next year’s event, as she says they will start reaching out to talent between December and January.

A big part moving forward is reaching out to the business community and organizations that support them, and seek support to make the event what it is.

More information about Performances in the Park can be found on the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society’s website here.
