Remote area west of Quesnel no longer on evacuation alert

An Evacuation Order for the Kuyakuz Lake Area has been lifted.

It was originally issued back on August 10th by the Cariboo Regional District’s Emergency Operations Centre due to a wildfire that was in the Prince George Fire Centre zone.

It was for 30 parcels of land and covered an area of 33,648 hectares.

Residents were asked to head east to Quesnel.

An Evacuation Alert, for 28 parcels including the community of Kluskus, was also issued at that time and has also been lifted.
