Wild Sheep Meeting to be Held in Clinton

Wild sheep in the South Cariboo are dying from preventable disease and it’s up to landowners in the region to help.

A town hall meeting on the topic is being hosted this coming Sunday by several wildlife groups in the area.

Director with the Wild Sheep Society of BC, Chris Barker explains the deadly impact being felt by the wild sheep population:

Domestic sheep carry a certain disease that they can pass on to wild sheep. If they come into contact, the wild sheep will end up dying. We can lose 75-90% of the wild sheep population.

The Memorial Hall in Clinton will host the event, which runs from 7 p-m until 9.
