Temperatures Plunge Below Average

Cariboo residents might have noticed feeling a little chillier than usual this morning.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Doug Lundquist, says although temperatures for the region are below average they not out of the norm.

He says they can be contributed a mass of Arctic air.

“If we could put up a higher wall between the Yukon and BC border we might have less of it and the mountains help us a bit, but the Arctic air has come through the northern interior down into the central interior.”

In Williams Lake the temperature reached a high of -5.7°C with a low of -14.7°C (not including the wind chill) on Tuesday.

Normal highs for this time of year are -1°C with an overnight low of -8° C.
