Cooler Temperatures Hit Region

Cooler rainy weather with temperature highs below 20 degrees will be sweeping across the Cariboo and majority of the province.

Environment Canada Meteorologist, Lisa Coldwells says although the trend will carry into next month there is a potential flip side.

“This pattern looks like it’s going to be long-lasting and we’re going to be sort of stuck in cool unsettled conditions for the 1st week of September.”

“I don’t think we can say summer is over because the longer range climate indicators say that we will be returning to an overall fall that is still above normal.”

Coldwells says the cool, unsettled trend is affecting the entire portion of Western North America.

She adds that up north into the Yukon even Meteorologists are seeing the very beginning of some Arctic air coming down from the Beaufort Seas.

Normal highs for this time of year are 22 degrees with a low of 7.
