Quesnel man sentenced in connection with robbery at pharmacy

A Quesnel man has been sentenced in connection with an armed robbery.

31-year old Kevin Oakley was sentenced to 12 months and 21 days in jail and he also received a 10-year firearms prohibition.

That after he plead guilty to a charge of Robbery and Disguising his Face with the Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence.

The charges stem from a robbery at the Front Street Pharmacy back in March.

RCMP say a lone male, wearing a dark hood with his face covered, entered the store and demanded drugs.

Police say he was brandishing a can of bear spray.

The suspect fled the scene with a small amount of drugs but two people were quickly apprehended.

Charges against a 35-year old woman were dropped.
