Gallon Challenge! Williams Lake Trail Riders Association Look to Paint Over Graffiti

The Williams Lake Trail Riders Association has launched a “Gallon Challenge” to paint over 3-year-old graffiti on the roof of their indoor arena at the Stampede Grounds.

Director Debbie Fadenrecht says despite their own efforts as a non-profit society writing letters and using their own funds, the full realization of the need for the project took off through social media.

“We got a message on Facebook that it looked unsightly, we were not really an image that we want to project, and how as a club could we fix it.”

“We got a huge gift from Glenn and Kisa Painting. They stepped forward and donated their equipment, their time, and their energy to paint our roof and Trail Riders have to come up with the money for the specialized paint.”

Fadenrecht says the paint which costs $30 a gallon, can easily be recovered should it be graffitied again.

She says due to some unexpected hurdles they will not be painting over the graffiti until July 2nd.

Anyone interested in donating to the Gallon Challenge or helping out with the painting can contact the Williams Lake Trail Riders Association or Windsor Plywood.
