The first discussion on the federal government’s anti-terror legislation, Bill C-51 will take place in the Cariboo tonight.
Organizer Hugh Thomas, with Stand Up for the North Committee, says the controversial bill if passed would potentially infringe the privacy and rights of Canadians.
Thomas says MP for Kamloops, Thompson, and Cariboo, Cathy Mcleod, has spoken in favor of the bill.
The discussion is scheduled to take place on March 30 at the United Church in 100 Mile House beginning at 7, with the discussion continuing on March 31st in Williams Lake at St. Peter’s Anglican Church at 7.
A discussion is also scheduled to take place in Quesnel at 7 pm on April 1st at the Arts & Recreation Centre.
