Communities throughout the Cariboo will be celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday tomorrow.
In Williams Lake events are planned to take place in Boitanio Park from 11 til 3 and we asked Recreation Programmer Suzanne Cochrane what visitors can expect.
“Lots of different games and activities that are heritage and culturally based as well as canadiana activities of different puzzles, and learning your provincial flags and provinces and territories matching them, lots of fun things like that”.
There will be a skateboard and BMX Jam at the skate park at 11:30am, even a commemorative time capsule where the community can bring a photo or write or draw what they would like to share with others in 25 years.
Canada Day events will also be going on at Barkerville Historic Town and the 108 Heritage Site.
