Quesnel Gymnast to represent BC at Western Canadian Gymnastics Competition

A Quesnel gymnast has made history.

Jessica Higgins has won a spot to represent to represent the province at next month’s Western Canadian Gymnastics Competition.

Head Artistic Coach at Quesnel Technics Gymnastic Club, Peggy Willcox says Jessica has been in Gymnastics since she was a toddler.

“She’s now 14 years old and there’s 10 levels of gymnastics and she’s reached the 9th level. When they get to level 10, they are considered national level athletes.”

Jessica had won the spot after qualifying at last weekend’s “Twister’s” Gymnastics Competition in Abbotsford.

She’s the first athlete of the club to qualify to attend.

Jessica has also recently claimed the Top All Round Highschool Gymnast in the province at BC Highschool Sports Gymnastics Competition which took place in Prince George.
