Williams Lake Mounties Get Their Man

A man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant was taken into police custody.

On June 22, 2016, at 1036 hours the Williams Lake RCMP recognized a man wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. The officer arrested the man on the outstanding warrant, incidental to arrest the man was found in possession of weapons, contrary to his Court order.

33 year-old Dennis RUSSELL was found to be in possession of a loaded .45 calibre handgun, a quantity of drugs, various style knives, brass knuckles and ammunition. RUSSELL remains in custody after being charged with the following offences:

  • One count of possessing a firearm while prohibited;
  • One count of possession of a prohibited firearm while loaded;
  • One count of occupying a vehicle knowing firearm is present;
  • One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • One count of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
  • One count of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon;
  • One count of possession ammunition while prohibited, and
  • One count of fail to comply with conditions of recognizance.
