HomeSportsDay and Brouilette Swing for the Cure

Day and Brouilette Swing for the Cure

From dawn until dusk the general manager of the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis club was on the course swinging for a cure Wednesday.

Morgan Day, joined with Director of Golf, Tyler Brouilette completed 153 holes and 70 birdies to raise awareness and funds for ALS from 5 am until 10 pm.

Day says it was definitely worth it.

“It was a bit more of a grind than maybe I was anticipating but it’s for a great cause. So it was easy to stay motivated and keep going, and try to raise as much money as we could.”

He adds that they were cheered on throughout the day.

“We actually have a former member that’s dealing with ALS right now-Bill Montgomery; he’s been a long member time for the club. He’s not golfing anymore but he came out with Don Taylor another one of our active members and they kind of drove around with their cart and followed us, and did some chit-chatting along the way.”

Day says they’ve raised about $1500 so far inhouse and through an online account with the PGA of BC.

Tomorrow’s Firth Annual Walk for ALS takes place in Boitanio Park in Williams Lake with registration starting at 10.
