Kidney Foundation Honours Young Williams Lake Boy

8 year old Nash Overton of Williams Lake was recently presented a Youth Recognition Award from the Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC & Yukon Branch.

“Nash is a remarkable and very special young man, who not only was one of our youngest and most determined participants in our Kidney Walk campaign, Team Nash was also one our top fundraising teams,” said BC & Yukon Executive Director, Karen Philp. “He did an amazing job of raising much needed funds to support those fighting kidney disease.”

Nash who raised over $14,000 for the Foundation’s 2015 Kidney Walk, was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome when he was just 2 years old.

“I am very pleased to win this award. It means a great deal to me to know that I can help make a difference for others who have kidney disease,” says Nash.

Nash is also part of the Foundation’s Kidney Kids, a group of young children affected by kidney disease, who have come together and deliver special dance performances to help raise awareness that kidney disease can affect anyone at any age.

“Nash is compassionate beyond his years with a desire to help make life easier for other children living with kidney disease,” said Nash’s proud mom, Fallon Overton.
