South Cariboo OCP Review Process Commences

An opportunity for residents of the South Cariboo to share what they would like to see in their community when it comes to development takes place today.

Chair of the Cariboo Regional District, Al Richmond says the CRD has launched a process to update the Official Community Plan which was developed in 1993.

“The last one in the South Cariboo OCP resulted in a new zone for one community. They wished they had aspirations with respect to having horses on smaller parcels than what was normally permitted and so that may be something we look again at in this process.”

Richmond says they will also be asking residents to be part of a working group-an ongoing steering committee.

Today’s open houses on the OCP review process run in Forest Grove from 2 to 4:30 and in 108 Mile from 6pm until 8.

An open house will also take place in Lone Butte on Friday from 2pm until 4:30.
