RCMP Investigate Pipe Attack and Home Invasion

Williams Lake RCMP are investigating an incident in which a 30 year old woman was attacked with a pipe.

The woman was walking on Gibbons Street in the 2nd Avenue North area at 7 yesterday evening.

Staff Sergeant Del Byron says the woman who was wearing earphones was hit in the head with a pipe, knocked down, and  kicked.

The suspect immediately fled the scene on a bike with black handlebars, no grips, and was wearing black skate shoes and top, with blue pants.

The woman who was taken to hospital, luckily only sustained a small scrape to her forehead and a bump to the back of her head.

Also being investigated is a  report of a home invasion on the 4000 block of Mackenzie Avenue North yesterday morning.

Byron says police were alerted to the incident at 10:48 and that a male suspect broke into a residence and was fighting with a male of the residence.

The suspect who was reportedly wielding a hammer, asked of guns before demanding electronics, fled on a red BMX bicycle he stole from the home.

A 2 year old child was in the residence at the time of the incident.

The bicycle was located a block away from the home by RCMP who made patrols in the area and tasked a police dog.

Anyone with further information to contact Williams Lake RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
